The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Operations Analyst based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Operations Analyst will perform the following functions-
- Coordinate Project/Programme Recruitment Needs and Process with the HR Unit;
- Provide operational support to relevant donor/clients Missions, conducting necessary preparation work prior to missions/audits;
- Provide substantive research and analytical support including contribution to briefing materials, portfolio summary notes for management reports and for programme development needs for Projects;
- Assist in preparation of Regular and Ad Hoc Management reports as needed;
- Support business development with partners throughout the UN system and broader international community by coordinating missions, meetings and follow-up actions;
- Manage investment funding portfolio throughout the process, from proposal submission to update reports and final closure;
- Support the business development leads system to include liaising internal reviewers and collecting necessary information from the field offices;
- Liaise with relevant HQ Units and OCs/Pcs in ensuring the up-to-date dissemination of information to project stakeholders; and
- Ensure day to day interaction with clients and staff to ensure efficient dialogue on program and project’s operational matters. Serve as the client’s focal point for resolving Operational Issues;
- Liaise with the corporate communications unit on the publication of articles and stories on AEMO projects;
- Ensure AEMO information is captured in searchable project reference databases, and available in a user-friendly way on the AEMO intranet;
- Act as a nexus for information coming from both the HQ practices and the field offices, to include responding to ad hoc requests for information or follow up;
- Train and build capacity to oversee documentation and records management;
- Train frontline administrative staff on records keeping and office administration;
- Other duties related to the portfolio of projects as assigned by the Management and Oversight Advisor AEMO.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master Degree/Advanced University Degree in business administration, project management, public admin, development studies, social sciences or relevant discipline preferred;
- Bachelor Degree in the same subjects with an additional 2 years of experience would be acceptable in lieu of MA;
- Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in operations management at the national and preferably international levels providing both support and advisory services and/or managing responsibilities in a multicultural setting;
- Experience working with UN/NGO’s and/or post-conflict environments; and
- Experience in supporting projects and team management;
- Fluency in English is essential; specially with writing skills;
- Knowledge of Arabic, Russian or French would be considered an additional asset.
