Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Research Associate, Community Health Project in Kampala, Uganda.
The Research Associate will work closely with researchers and country office staff to conduct data cleaning, data analysis, and report writing.
IPA is a research and policy non-profit that discovers and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Research Associate, Community Health Project will perform the following functions-
- Manage data cleaning and analysis.
- Ensure adherence to data quality protocols.
- Manage critical high-level relationships with project stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings with key stakeholders and present research findings.
- Write reports detailing research findings and proposed interventions.
- Oversee human subject’s local research approval applications, and ensure that all necessary approvals are in place.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Manage the logistics of a large-scale field experiment, including managing budgets, timelines, contract worker payroll, and procurement.
- Implement Computer Assisted Interviewing (CAI) for surveys.
- Support the development and piloting of survey instruments; manage translation into local languages.
- Ensure adherence to data quality protocols, including auditing enumerators, monitoring data collection, and conducting data quality audits.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, or related fields. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience conducting data cleaning / analysis.
- Prior experience working with large data sets and programming in Stata (strongly preferred) or other data analysis software.
- Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills.
- Experience living in a developing country is a strong plus.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with randomized controlled trials preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage enumerator teams and survey operations at different levels (programming and data flow, financial budgeting and reporting, human resources and team building).
- Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and team player; and.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations.
