United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Audio-Visual Officer in Copenhagen, Denmark. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
Audio-Visual Officer will support in the production and dissemination of audio-visual information about UNOPS for external audiences.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Jobs Responsibility
The Audio-Visual Officer will be responsible for the following functions-
- Script, edit and oversee production of still photography, video and other audio-visual pieces for UNOPS as needed.
- Create campaign messaging and act as editorial focal point for photography/audio-visual media productions.
- Ensure strategic priorities and corporate identity is served by the audio-visual products created, in line with the UNOPS communications strategy.
- Oversee photography/audio-visual story and raw materials gathering, on in-country visits or elsewhere, in close coordination with other units in the Communications and Partnerships Group to optimize materials.
- Oversee the build-up of a UNOPS photo library and purchase/commission images as need for web and publication use.
- Provide editorial guidance, ensuring messages conveyed through audio-visual products are sharp, compelling and current.
- Outsource audio-visual products as needed by identifying best creative production partners, maximize the quality of execution, and ensure best value for money is achieved.
- Ensure audio-visual products respond to the needs of other teams and units within the Communications and Partnerships Group and the Executive Office.
- Create and oversee UNOPS audio-visual presence at events and conferences as needed.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent), preferably in photo journalism, photography, media arts or production is required.
- A least 2 years of relevant experience in the field of audio visual production, preferably within an international organization or/and public sector. Master’s degree in relevant discipline may substitute for some of the required years of experience.
- In depth understanding of audio visual production is required.
- A strong portfolio detailing video and photography work.
- Experience creating broadcasting narrative techniques and narrative structures.
- Proven international and/or field experience.
- Sound knowledge / familiarity with a wide range of audio visual tools and techniques.
- Demonstrated scripting and editing skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas in a creative, clear, direct and lively style.
- Excellent understanding on the intersection of technology, web, design, editorial, digital, social media and multimedia platforms.
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, negotiation skills, networking and coordination skills required.
- Knowledge of digital media, visual communications and interactive storytelling methods.
- An understanding of development, humanitarian or international affairs.
- Fluency in the English language.
- Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
