Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Back End Developer in Baltimore, US.
The Back End Developer works to build websites and web applications of all sizes using open source frameworks, content management systems, and related technologies that align with the agency’s goals.
CRS carries out the commitment of the Bishops of the United States to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Back End Developer will perform the following functions-
- Develop solutions on the Drupal 7 and WordPress platforms that address the needs of the client’s site users, internal business users, and site managers.
- Identify, review, and configure Drupal/WordPress modules to deliver the required products.
- Establish a seamless workflow for content load with access control and revision control.
- Create, edit and/or modify web pages and CMS templates.
- Follow processes and procedures to effectively write, test and verify code locally and deploy into the continuous integration and delivery production pipeline.
- Recommend and perform necessary user acceptance testing, QA and peer code review to ensure code quality.
- Participate in industry related development groups and communities to create optimal opportunities for learning resources and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor, support, and coach colleagues to keep staff up to date on online best practices.
- Work collaboratively in a fun team environment to generate new ideas, improved efficiencies and share knowledge.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline or comparable degree of work experience.
- Experience creating and customizing Drupal 7 and WordPress sites.
- Comprehensive knowledge of common Drupal 7 modules and the core API, CCK, Views, Features, and Panels.
- Strong PHP, SQL, MySQL and Apache skills.
- Strong HTML/CSS and JS (jQuery) skills.
- Experience with LAMP architecture.
- Understanding of web protocols and standards such as SOAP, JSON, HTTP(S) etc.
- Experience managing source code using revision control systems, such as Git and SVN.
- Experience exporting and importing data sets into/from web-based data platforms.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions to the non-technical.
- Willingness to be on-call for urgent needs, sometimes nights or weekends.
- Spanish speaking, a plus.
