World Vision International (WVI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Manager in Mbabane, Swaziland. The duration for the post is of less than 1 year.
The Communications Manager will be to strategically and operationally manage and coordinate internal and external communications for the multi-country Southern Africa El Nino Emergency Response (SAENER).

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communications Manager will perform the following functions-
- Engage regional office leadership, communications managers at the national offices as well as global communications leads in the development and execution of an overarching communications and public engagement framework, guiding context specific objectives, initiatives, media and general messaging for influence, income and impact.
- Monitor and support current communication environments for failures and any irregularities.
- Train, coach and mentor NO communicators so they can effectively engage with various publics, and generate quality communications resources for positioning, advocacy, social media and marketing in a timely manner.
- Influence and facilitate support office communicators to position and respond to SAENER communications, media, branding and credibility objectives for different audiences globally.
- Manage communications contractors, and closely monitor and track the response communications budget, as well as technical workflows in order to deliver the SAENER communications plan and outputs.
- Represent the RCD in strategic multi-agency and leadership engagements and explore opportunities to partner for communication and influence initiatives.
- Implement inter-agency approaches and messaging related to the Southern Africa El Nino humanitarian response.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A university degree or its equivalent in the field of journalism or public relations.
- Proven field communications experience in emergency settings.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent journalistic skills with technical skills in shooting photo and / or video.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, manage to plan and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to lead a team.
- Ability to work in difficult, insecure and stressful conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural and communication skills.
- An excellent command of English both written and spoken.
- A Christian commitment and its expression are required.
- An excellent command of English – written and spoken.
- Excellent commend of management of new technologies such as satellite communications, photography videographer, and computer software.
- Experience in a multi-cultural setting outside the home country.
- Work experience in disaster and fragile economies.
