World Vision International (WVI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Officer in Amman, Jordan.
The Communications Officer will be responsible to increase public engagement from/in Jordan about WV Jordan’s Programme and its impact on children and World Vision’s efforts to address children’s needs to meet response and partnership communications requirements as outlined in the Response Communications strategy.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communications Officer will perform the following functions-
- In response to regional, support office and/or global center requests, research, write and as appropriate, publish stories about successes and needs in World Vision projects.
- In response to regional, support office or global center requests, take, caption, upload and as appropriate, publish photos and videos and successes and needs in World Vision projects.
- Regularly pitch story, photo and other resource ideas through the Share Web site.
- With the advice of the Syria Crisis Response Communications Director work to coordinate freelancers on resource gathering projects.
- Review web content on WVI and ensure Jordan information is correct and updated by providing current news, story, photo and video resources in collaboration with the WVJ Response Manager.
- Support production of external Syria response annual report and other key World Vision documents.
- Ensure all written, photographic, video, web and other resources produced are done so in alignment with World Vision child protection standards.
- Support in WV’s compliance with global branding and corporate identity.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Degree in Journalism or Communication, development communication, social sciences or other related fields.
- At least one year of experience working with an NGO.
- At least 1 year of experience in doing communications and media work, preferably with an NGO.
- Excellent creative, organizational and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to work within and across teams and with all levels of staff and stakeholders; resourceful and innovative.
- Proficiency in the use of technology and software (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, Google Products).
- Basic photography skills (able to compose a shot, interest in developing photography skills).
- Willingness to participate in capacity building initiatives, and implement learning’s on-the-job.
- Willingness to assume duties and responsibilities in all communications areas, as needed; Pro-active and able to multi-task.
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English.
