The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications & Outreach Officer in Mumbai, India.
The Communications & Outreach Officer will be responsible for communications, media, stakeholder and beneficiary outreach for the EHS+ Center, and for building the capacity of the Center in these areas.
ISC’s mission is to help communities around the world address environmental, economic, and social challenges to build a better future shaped and shared by all.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Communications & Outreach Officer will perform the following functions-
- Develop communications and outreach materials under the supervision of the Acting Country Director for India, and the guidance of the HQ Communications and Program teams.
- Conduct outreach and marketing activities for the EHS+ Center to ensure a robust pipeline of business.
- Coordinate communications, marketing, and business development capacity building activities for the EHS+ Center local partner.
- Provide branding and messaging oversight, ensuring consistency and quality of ISC’s, the EHS+ Network, and the EHS+ Center’s communication materials.
- Lead the development of ISC India program’s website, newsletters, Facebook page, and other communications materials.
- Build and manage relationships with journalists and support media outreach for the EHS+ Center and ISC India.
- Manage relationships as needed with local communications vendors, including photographers, videographers, public relations and social media vendors.
- Coordinate with and provide guidance to program staff to support communications, branding and public relations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Undergraduate degree in related field required, graduate degree preferred.
- Five years of experience in communications, international nonprofit experience preferred.
- Experience working with programs targeted to the environment, energy, industrial sector or manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Experience working on USAID funded projects strongly preferred.
- Experience working with the private sector on CSR projects preferred.
- Outstanding writing (English & Hindi) skills — design skills a plus.
- Experience working with media organizations Experience creating materials that meet brand standards in a communications specialist position.
- Understanding and appreciation of ISC’s mission and the capacity to communicate the unique aims and values of the organization to a wide range of audiences.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Business development experience is a plus.
