The Oxfam International is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Digital Communications Manager based in Oxford, UK.
The Digital Communications Manager will devise and deliver cohesive communications plans which will support the reach and uptake of Oxfam’s research, policy and practitioner content.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Digital Communications Manager will perform the following functions-
- Work with others across the organisation, including in other Oxford-based teams, in countries and regions, and in affiliates, to define content needs for Policy & Practice, create and edit pages and sections as appropriate, and develop communications plans using existing and new channels.
- Work with others across the organisation to champion our online repository, support capacity-building and outreach so that others are enabled to submit appropriate programme content, and provide technical support as needed.
- Horizon scanning on digital development and applications, researching and applying new digital communications approaches and technical solutions, including those which increase discoverability, usage, and usability of content.
- Provide support in testing, trouble-shooting, bug and change management to the Website Manager.
- Revise and implement a communications strategy for reaching development and humanitarian professional and practitioner audiences across diverse environments, including increasing awareness, usage, and engagement.
- Work with the Digital Communications Officer to support the development of an integrated blog strategy, schedule, edit and upload posts.
- Work with the Digital Communications Officer to develop cohesive integrated communications plans for priority publications and projects, including both digital and offline activities as appropriate.
- Undertake audience research which will feed the strategic development of digital products and marketing approaches for practitioner audiences including; Oxfam
- Policy & Practice website, blogs and online Communities of Practice.
- Identify appropriate digital and offline developments for reaching practitioner audiences in regions and countries, including driving developments which support research uptake and evidence-based decision making.
- Work with public engagement and other teams to ensure coordinated approaches.
- Develop innovative digital communications initiatives and partnerships for the dissemination and promotion of content.
- Identify and submit content to external humanitarian and development network sites and email bulletins.
- Occasional attendance at external and internal events representing Oxfam.
- Manage the Digital Communications Officer in accordance with Oxfam’s HR policies.
- Plan and manage a budget for digital and offline marketing.
- Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of wider team/department projects.
- Work in specific cross-departmental project teams on major pieces of work.
- Contribute to organisation-wide strategic digital and knowledge management fora
- Define key performance indicators and implement measurement, analytics and reporting methods to gauge success.
- Provide regular reports on agreed impact indicators
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Sound and authoritative knowledge of digital communications.
- Proven experience of social media strategy development and implementation.
- Proficiency in digital content planning and in creation and management of content calendars.
- Solid understanding of SEO, PPC and email marketing initiatives and best practices.
- Technically literate with experience in HTML and website trouble-shooting.
- Extensive experience of using content management systems (CMS).
- Sound data analysis skills.
- Experience of managing people and budgets.
- Ability to work effectively in project teams.
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to provide editorial and creative input.
- Sound understanding of the requirements of research uptake and translating evidence into use.
- Experience of audience research and applying outcomes to project plans.
- Good professional networks and the ability to represent Oxfam externally.
- Experience of training and supporting colleagues in digital tasks.
- Flexibility and willingness to provide additional back-up support to other team members where required.
