The Green Climate Fund (the Fund) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of HR Specialist in Songdo, Incheon City, Republic of Korea. The duration of this position is of Three years.
The Head of HR (HR Specialist) will be responsible for managing the HR function of the Fund’s Secretariat, including the development and implementation of the Fund’s overall HR modalities, and ensuring its alignment with the vision and goals of the Fund.
The Fund is a new multilateral fund created to make a significant and ambitious contribution to the global efforts towards attaining the goals set by the international community to combat climate change.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The HR Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Ensuring the implementation of HR policies, guidelines and systems linked to the strategic objectives of the Fund.
- Leading and guiding the development and implementation of HR policies, guidelines and programmes to address emerging organizational needs and initiatives, including work-life balance, achievement of diversity targets, rewards and recognition, field conditions of service and fair compensation and benefits.
- Planning and overseeing the Fund’s work in all areas of HR management in order to ensure effective delivery of the HR work plan.
- Leading the HR team work with professional competence, effectiveness, efficiency and
- Monitoring and evaluating the HR team’s performance and the implementation of HR work plan.
- Ensuring the delivery of quality HR support services to all staff of the Fund by developing a collaborative partnership with managers and individual staff members.
- Ensuring consistent and transparent application of HR policies and practices in the headquarters and the field.
- Endeavoring to leverage technology to ensure the effective delivery of HR services.
- Promoting effective communication and facilitating open and transparent staff/management consultative processes.
- Representing the Fund in external meetings and negotiations on HR policy questions and promoting the Fund’s HR strategies and policies; and.
- Developing and sharing knowledge of emerging and best practices in the HR field, global HR topics and trends and United Nations Common System and multilateral development banks’ HR initiatives (if relevant).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced university degree in HR, business or public administration or management, or equivalent. Specialized knowledge in strategic HR management is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in HR management, of which a substantial part must be at the senior level in the private or public sector, or an international organization.
- Demonstrated professional competence and success in organizational development and change management and ability to lead in a fast changing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of HR policies and practices, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefit administration, and organizational change and effectiveness.
- Experience in establishing and leading diverse teams with multifaceted work programmes.
- Strong leadership skills and experience working with others at senior levels in an organization.
- Sensitivity to and respect for political and cultural factors; and.
- Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage.
