International Medical Corps (IMC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Emergency WASH Manager in Greece.
The Emergency WASH Manager will be responsible to deliver the project, to ensure project monitoring, to prepare the donor report and to close the project and implement exit plans.
IMC’s mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Emergency WASH Manager will perform the following functions-
- Program Management Overall management of the grant contracts, including implementation of the activities, internal and external reporting, staff and partners’ management.
- Work closely with the program field teams to determine the operational needs of the project within the scope of the grant.
- Implement and maintain prescribed reporting systems to monitor and evaluate the objectives, indicators and outcomes of the project.
- Work with field teams and logistics to procure project supplies within the project budget.
- Regularly update country office on progression of the project as per protocol Assist with development of future projects including their budgets as needed.
- Liaise closely with local authorities, country team, and partner agencies to ensure program compliance with donor policies and government regulations and complementarily with other agencies’ effort.
- Attend and contribute to internal and external coordination meetings.
- Represent the organization at WASH-related task force meetings, assessment missions, camp coordination meetings etc.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organizations Code of Conduct, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to internal and external actors.
- Supervise staff to ensure their smooth and effective operations – Assist in the selection and training of qualified program staff and recommend promotions, disciplinary action and termination of staff in consultation with Country Director and Finance Director.
- Ensure compliance to local labor laws including working hours – Maintain open lines of communications with all field staff.
- Determine training needs for the project staff – Train national staff to increase their responsibilities in order to build capacity and ensure sustainability of programs – Advocate and plan for professional development for all subordinate staff.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Country Director to ensure program activities and objectives are communicated.
- Work with Logistics and finance staff to ensure the coordination of programs supplies are within budgeted targets – Interface with national government and relevant agencies as necessary.
- Ensure application and compliance of security protocols and policies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Professional degree in engineering, hydro-geology, public health or relevant technical WASH specialization.
- A minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- Good understanding of WASH sector and its components.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of standards including Sphere and WHO.
- Sound skills in staff supervision, training, capacity building and development.
- Ability to design, develop and deliver the projects.
- Practical experience and understanding of project cycle management.
- Practical experience in program management (multiple projects) and their coordination.
- Ability to compile, adjusts, manage and spend out a budget.
- WASH emergency response experience including rapid needs assessment and analysis.
- Experience in managing & supervision of external contractors.
- Experience of working closely with finance and logistics on activity and procurement planning to ensure on track spending.
