United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of ICT Assistant in Yangon, Myanmar. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The ICT Assistant provides day-to-day quality Help Desk support service to staff by providing them with a single point of contact to report problems, to make inquiries, and to get resolutions and answers.
UNOPS mission is to serve people in need by expanding the ability of the United Nations, governments and other partners to manage projects, infrastructure and procurement in a sustainable and efficient manner.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The ICT Assistant will perform the following functions-
- Assist to ICT officer to develop/implement ICT Plan.
- Supervise hardware maintenance provided by vendors.
- Administration and maintenance of MS Widows Server 2008 Server.
- Administrator of MS Exchange Mail Server.
- Maintenance of workstations, printer/copiers and ICT equipment.
- Management and administration of UNOPS data backup system.
- Maintenance of Cisco WAN/LAN equipment.
- Maintenance of communication equipment (VSAT, Fiber Optic Link, VHF radio, etc.).
- Administration and maintenance PABX system.
- Maintenance of Video and Audio conferencing equipment and ICT equipment.
- Report to ICT officer the status of hardware conditions and advise if need to replace.
- Report to ICT officer about frequently issues.
- Report to ICT officer immediately if there is errors on critical network equipment.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Secondary education is required. A University degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology and Information Systems or Management Sciences and/or certified as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA/MCITP Server Administrator) would be an advantage.
- A Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible technical experience in information technology, microcomputer operations, PC hardware technology, LAN/WAN and Desktop operating systems, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, graphics software, electronic mail systems, and related tools and techniques is required.
- Knowledge of standard computer operating systems and basic infrastructure services such as AD. DHCP. DNS and etc are preferable.
- Experience in the usage of Microsoft Windows 7.2008 Server, MS Office 2010, Microsoft Exchange 2010, Microsoft products and environment would be an advantage.
- Knowledge in telephony, telecommunication systems and security such as Antivirus would be an asset.
- Troubleshooting skills and problem solving are desirable.
- Ability to work with Network equipment such as Switch, Router and Firewall would be an advantage.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.
