The INTASAVE-CARIBSAVE Group is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Web & Communications Manager. The position will be based in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Web & Communications Manager will be responsible for driving forward the ongoing development and growing the reach of our organisation’s website.
INTASAVE Africa is a regional not-for-profit organisation that innovates, connects and implements practical solutions for sustainable development and climate change.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Web & Communications Manager will perform the following functions-
- Responsible for project managing the ongoing functional development of the INTASAVE-CARIBSAVE Group website
- Working with the external contractors who are developing the back end of the site to fine tune the usability, design, content and conversion
- Working with the Communications Team to devise strategies to drive online traffic to the organisation’s website
- Coordinating, uploading and promoting regular content to the site
- Working with the social media manager to coordinate a coherent online presence and digital strategy for the organisation
- Working with the rest of the communications team, to co-produce content and stories for the website, and ensure quality and brand
- Maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout all web presence and maximising its utility in building our brand awareness
- Motivating staff about the opportunities presented by the website and other digital channels and providing training on simple web management tasks where needed
- Keeping up to date with new digital developments, trends and technologies
- Ensuring our web presence fully adheres to legal requirements, such as copyright and data protection.
- Re-designing the ASSAR project website, which is designed on Drupal, then general site maintenance
- Leading consultations with project partners to ensure the site meets the needs of the project
- Developing user profiles / personas, user journeys and mapping how the site caters to different project stakeholders
- Reporting regularly on site analytics
- Coordinating and uploading regular content to the site from the Project Management Unit and project partners
- Working on ASSAR mailing list and working group maintenance and management
- Various communications and digital tasks as required
- Supporting the Africa office (Kenya and South Africa with communications outputs
- Using design software to help prepare outputs
- Writing and editing support
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor degree in Web Development, Marketing, Communications, or commensurate experience.
- Eligibility to work in South Africa and be in possession of a requisite work permit/visa as applicable
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrable experience in web development, such as developing Drupal sites, and a proven ability to work on new Content Management Systems
- Strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategy and best practice.
- Solid knowledge of website analytics tools and SEO
- Knowledgeable about accessibility, legal and security compliance
- Ability to work remotely, effectively and collaboratively with colleagues from different country offices
- Experience working in climate change or international development (desirable)
- Ability to use Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (desirable)
