Malaria Consortium is seeking applications from eligible and deserving applicants for job/vacancy of COMDIS-HSD Research Officer. Whilst this post will be initially based in London with other members of the COMDIS-HSD team, the post holder will be expected to travel extensively for up to 3 months at a time to different Malaria Consortium country offices, dependent upon the location of COMDIS-HSD projects. The nature of this position is fixed term contract for about 4 years, until December 2016 with travel upto 65% of time.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
• Postgraduate degree in Public Health or a related discipline;
Work Based Skills and Competencies:
Essential:
• Experience working in public health implementation programmes and/or operational research;
• Experience of the research process; design and inception of research studies, development of
data collection tools, submission of projects for ethical approval, data collection, data analysis.
• Significant experience in project management, including financial management, human
resources and donor reporting;
• Demonstrable experience and understanding of working cross-culturally, preferably in Africa or
Asia.
• Ability to work effectively, both independently and within a team.
• Highly organised, with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills;
• Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills;
• High level of computer skills including data analysis.
Desirable:
• Experience in health service delivery.
• Experience in writing research articles for publication.
