The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is seeking concept notes from qualified organisations to implement the Financial Inclusion for Small holder Farmers in Africa Project (FISFAP) which is funded by the MasterCard Foundation with an aim to reduce food insecurity and increase the incomes of smallholder farmers in the target countries by February 2020 through financial institutions and agriculture value chain actors, especially agro dealers, aggregators-warehouse operators and farmer based organizations.
FISFAP seeks to enable partnerships between financial service providers (FSP), value chain actors (VCA) and mobile network operators (MNO) to develop appropriate and affordable (digital) products and services for (organized) smallholders.
The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is a not-for-profit organization working with African governments, other donors, NGOs, the private sector and African farmers to significantly and sustainably improve the productivity and incomes of resource poor smallholder farmers in Africa.
Priority Areas
- Development and delivery of pre-season financial services by FSPs and VCAs that include nonfinancial services (input credit and payment, payment of mechanization, (crop) insurance) and
- Development and delivery of post-harvest financial and non-financial services (warehouse receipt finance, payment solutions linked to bill payment or lay-away schemes for input finance, supply chain finance, invoice discounting, factoring, post-harvest and processing equipment finance).
Target Countries: Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana
Eligibility Criteria
- AGRA encourage partnerships between organizations specialized in developing and delivering Pre Season and Post-Harvest Financial and Non-Financial Services to smallholder farmers in Tanzania, there should however be one Lead organisation.
- Concept Notes should be written in English.

- Competitive selection of organizations deemed eligible for funding will be conducted in a two-step process.
