amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research has launched the TARGETED Request for Proposals for the MSM Initiative Community Awards – Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Proposals have been requested for innovative projects from community-based organizations addressing HIV among men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender individuals. amfAR currently supports organizations in low- and middle-income countries in the following regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and Latin America. Projects may last up to one year, and have a budget up to $20,000 (U.S.).
Currently, amfAR is interested in supporting projects that focus on the following:
- direct service interventions to reach gay men, other MSM, and/or transgender individuals;
- structural interventions” that address underlying factors associated with HIV (such as decriminalization efforts, campaigns against homophobia and transphobia, health service provider training on MSM-friendly services, etc.);
- research studies; and/or
- advocacy and policy activities.
