Fauna and Flora International (FFI) and the UK Government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) are jointly inviting proposals for Flagship Species Fund (FSF) that supports the projects that aim to conserve flagship species.
The fund will support projects that fall between £5,000 and £15,000. Work of locally-based conservation groups or agencies is highly prioritized.
Fund Priority Categories –
- Primates
- Trees
- Sea Turtles
Eligibility Criteria –
- Proposal must be prepared by, or on behalf of, a local organization in a developing country or a UK Overseas Territory.
- Proposal should focus on a globally threatened species in one of the fund’s priority categories.
- Proposal should have clearly defined conservation outcome/s that, although centred on a flagship species, should demonstrate positive impacts on the wider habitat and ecosystem.
- Proposal must contribute towards delivery of one or more of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
- Proposed activities must be field based and focus on direct conservation action.
Country of project implementation/operation, project objective, proposed activities, expected outcomes, requested amount, budget with breakdown and name of applicant organization (local, in-country) and contact person must be included in the proposal.
