The Possible Futures Film Contest is inviting storytellers around the world to submit films that create a new vision for the future of humanity – on that will become defined by our relationships to human justice, environmental sustainability, peace and individual fulfillment. These stories on film, from citizens of the world, have the potential to highlight and envision change that benefits people, the planet and its ecosystems.
There are over $30,000 in awards to top seven filmmakers who will be chosen by a team of world class judges according to the set judging criteria. Five additional People’s Choice Awards are determined by the films that receive the most votes by viewers. Winning films will be announced July 25th and will be premiered at an awards ceremony in San Francisco, CA, United States.
The Possible Futures Award: $10,000 plus a trip the rainforest – One outstanding film will be selected as the best from all category submissions by our five Global Judges. The filmmaker will receive the highest of honors for expressing the greatest potential for solutions in our relationships with Peace and Freedom, Human Fulfillment, Sustainability, and Fair Societies.
The Pachamama Award: $5,000 plus a trip the rainforest – This thought-provoking winning film will be selected by our Global Judges, and in their opinion, will encourage humankind to believe in, or will inspire others to blaze a new path to a positive future.
The Overall People’s Choice Award: $2,500 in cash – This prestigious award of $2,500 in cash will come from the voices of global citizens. Calculated by a custom designed voting system, this award tallies each vote to determine the voice of the people, for the top short film from all four categories.
The People’s Category Awards: Four $1000 awards – Votes from individuals throughout the world will speak clearly for the top short film from each category, representing the most outstanding voice of each subject.
