USAID (United States Agency for International Development) has launched the American Educators for Africa (AEFA) Program for “increasing human and institutional capacity in ways that increase the supply of skilled educators and administrators” in Africa. The program aims to build the knowledge and skills of trainers, teachers and education administrators by creating a cadre of highly qualified educators. The program will also strengthen the capacity of teachers, policy makers and others in improving the quality of school teaching methodologies and pedagogical materailas and provide technical assistance to local NGOs and CBOs for implementign sustainable education programs.
