Objectives
Shahbaz Development Foundation have following objectives:

• To create awareness regarding contemporary development issues i.e Health, Education and social services.
• To mobilize the rural communities for gender sensitivity that would offer equal opportunities to all without any discrimination. To empower women as they would be able to participate in the decision making process.
• Organizing marginalized groups of society to address issues through self Initiatives i.e conservation of natural resource management through participatory action.

Fuel Efficient stoves for energy conservation Supported by United Nations Development programme (UNDP): 2001-2003
The fuel stoves project was implemented by Shahbaz Development foundation during the year 2001-2003. The project goal was to introduce fuel efficient and smokeless stoves technology in the rural areas of Sindh province. The main objectives of the project were as under
• To reduce green house gas emission leading to global warming.
• To create awarness about environmental concerns in the community.
• Reduction in the use of fuel wood for cooking.
• Improve health of women in particular and community in general
The UNDP contribution was $1220 except communities and NGO contribution; in addition to that project period was 15 months duration. Through the project more than 570 fuel stoves has been installed among the 1729 joint/ individual families of 23 villages of District Nawab Shah Sindh. The projects have wider impact on the rural communities in general and female in particular. The result of third party evaluations revealed that the rate of installations in the area is almost 33% as model which is quite highly successful indicators of the project.
Construction of sewerage scheme for Village Pir Zakari of Distrcit Nawab Shah supported by Trust for Voluntary Organizations (TVO) Islamabad Pakistan through Regional Office Hyderabad:
The Shahbaz Development Foundation has been implementing project “Construction of Sewerage Scheme” village Pir Zakri of District Nawab Shah. The main purpose of the project is to provide the sewerage and sanitation facilities to the 4000 families of living inhabitants. The total project cost is Rs. 3377473(100%), Trust for Voluntary Organization contribution is Rs.1929973 (57%), NGO contribution is Rs.613500 (19%) and communities’ contribution will be Rs. 834000 (24%). By the end of the project more than 4000 families will have sewerage and sanitation system in the village which will be free of environment pollution.
