The Colombo Plan for Cooperative Economic and Social Development in Asia and the Pacific was launched in 1950 by seven commonwealth countries – Australia, Britain, Canada, Sri Lanka, India, New Zealand and Pakistan. The main aim of the Colombo Plan was to offer development assistance under the “Planning for Prosperity” motto. The Colombo Plan is based on the concept of self-help and mutual help.
The Colombo Plan Secretariat is currently inviting applications for Master’s programs scholarships to be conducted by the KDI School of Public Policy and Management, Seoul, South Korea.
Master’s Programs Fields
– Master of Development Policy (MDP)
– Master of Public Policy (MPP)
Language
The Master of Development Policy (MDP) and the Master of Public Policy (MPP) programs are taught in English. The KDI School also provides Basic Korean Language courses for international students.
Duration
The Master of Development Policy (MDP) and the Master of Public Policy (MPP) programs are conducted on a full – time basis starting in January 2012, and require one year’s coursework.

Admission Criteria
All applicants for the Master of in Development Policy (MDP) and Public Policy (MPP) program must meet the following minimum general requirements.
– Minimum 5 years experience in the public sector.
– Nominated by the Colombo Plan National Focal Point of their respective Governments
– Completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
– Meet English language requirements.
Scholarship
The scholarship awards will cover the following:
– A return air ticket on economy class from the closest international airport to Seoul, Korea.
– Admission costs
– Full tuition
– Living stipend of KRW640,000
By the participating country:
– Book allowance of US$300 per student per month
