The Office of Academic Exchange Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs invites applications for Tunisia Undergraduate Scholarship Program, 2013 for which funding award will be up to $4,625,000.
The Tunisia Undergraduate Scholarship Program (herein referred to as the “Tunisia UGRAD Program”), part of the United States Government’s Tunisia Scholarship Fund, will provide a substantive educational experience at a U.S. college or university to a diverse group of emerging student leaders from underrepresented sectors and parts of Tunisia. The recipient organization should ensure that participants are able to enroll full-time in courses at U.S. institutions alongside American peers, and provide opportunities and enrichment activities both inside and outside of the classroom designed to help them further develop professional skill sets and understand the United States and its citizens.
Participants will return to Tunisia at the conclusion of the program to re-enter colleges and universities there, and re-integrate with their home communities.
Eligibility-
- Applications may be submitted by public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3).
- Bureau grant guidelines require that organizations with less than four years experience in conducting international exchanges be limited to $130,000 in Bureau funding. The Bureau anticipates making one award, in an amount up to $4,625,000 to support program and administrative costs required to implement this exchange program. Therefore, organizations with less than four years experience in conducting international exchanges are ineligible to apply under this competition. The Bureau encourages applicants to provide maximum levels of cost sharing and funding in support of its programs.
