The Late Harold White Carroll, a retired grazier from Devonport, on his death in 2000 established a fund to offer scholarships for deserving students in the State of Victoria, to allow them to enter or continue university studies. On behalf of the Trustees of the Estate of the Late Harold Carroll these scholarships have been made available to eligible students for study at Monash University. Single scholarship will be offered in 2013.
Benefits:
- Total average value up to $16,000
- $4000 per year, paid for the duration of the degree up to a maximum of four years
Selection:
Attendance at one of the following schools (in order of preference):
Former pupils of:
- Coleraine Primary School
- St Joseph’s School, Coleraine
Former pupils of:
- Port Fairy Consolidated School
- St Patrick’s Primary School, Port Fairy
- Balmoral High School
- Balmoral Consolidated School
Former pupils of primary or secondary schools in the Western District of Victoria(approximately west and south west of the Calder Highway and all towns and cities on that highway). Monash University reserves the right to determine the localities contained within this boundary
Preference will be given to former pupils of those schools named and to students who can demonstrate involvement in community or social activities.
Eligibility criterion:
•Australian or New Zealand citizen, holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa
•Commencing or continuing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) student
•Experiencing financial disadvantage
•Students who complete their degree within three years may be eligible to hold the scholarship for an additional year to undertake an honours degree
