Henry McDowell Smith Scholarship is offered to commemorate late Henry McDowell Smith F.N.Z.I.A. who practiced architecture in Dunedin and Invercargill during his entire professional life. His widow offered in her will for the establishment of a scholarship to assist architectural students from Otago to pursue their architectural studies. The duration of this award is one year.
The main objective of the scholarship is not to reward academic brilliance but to offer assistance where for any reason lack of finance is likely to prevent or inhibit a student from completing the architectural course. This scholarship is open to full time students enrolled in a BAS and from Otago/Southland provincial area. The main decision makers of this scholarship are the School of Architecture.
Closing dates for applications: Friday 10th August, 2012
