Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU),is organizing a training program entitled “Youth work empowers youth to work” with a motive of enhancing youth workers’ skills in empowering young people to overcome unemployment.
The course will be held from 14 to 20 November 2015 at Banja Luka(Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Eligible Countries- Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, “ The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia ”, Turkey, Ukraine, Morocco and Egypt.
The program will focus to change and refine the existing problems of economic crises, poverty, youth unemployment, social exclusion, discrimination, human rights’ violations etc.
Youth for Exchange and Understanding (YEU) is an International Non-Governmental Youth Organization established in 1986 and member of the European Youth Forum in Brussels as an INGYO.It works to increase tolerance and awareness between different countries, cultures and traditions, and to promote a greater level of comprehension through the development of various youth activities aiming to promote peace, understanding and co-operation between the young people of the world, in a spirit of respect for human rights.
Program Objectives
- To explore current situation regarding unemployment and discuss the need for sustainable solutions to address the problem
- To provide youth workers with tools that empowering young people to overcome unemployment
- To create strategic plans in which youth workers will include empowerment for employability in their activities.
Training Methodologies
- Ice-breakers, energisers.
- Inputs from experts
- Intercultural and experiential learning
- Variety of visuals for thematic input
- Brainstorming and discussions both in working groups and in plenary
Eligibility Criteria
The participant should:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old;
- Have an interest in the topic;
- Willing to learn
- Be able to work in English;
- Have motivation to take part in the project
- Have basic experience in youth work
- Be committed to create and implement strategic plan
- Be active within their NGO and/or local community
- Have any previous experience with youth unemployment
