Deadline- 22 Apr 2012
This course gives journalists advanced level training in reporting business news, covering key types of equity stories including daily funding, mergers & acquisitions, institutional ownership and tips for crisis coverage in the credit crunch. Delegates will practice writing complex equities news in challenging reporting simulations and learn tips for accurate and incisive reporting.
The core activity concerns the actual writing and reporting of news, as practiced by Reuters and other global agencies. The course is practical by nature, with an emphasis on realistic economic news scenarios involving reporting on and writing about press releases, briefings and news conferences.
Eligibility-
This course targets Indian reporters from across the field who have some experience in covering business news (minimum six months in the field) and need to build their expertise in equities to an advanced level where they could tackle most corporate stories. It is aimed at people who are already business reporters, but is also suitable for generalists who want to understand the more complex issues of equities such as the pricing of takeovers and credit default swaps.
