University of Oregon is pleased to offer International Cultural Service Program 2013-14 scholarship to the non-US citizens for which courses are offered by the university.
International students who demonstrate financial need and exceptional merit may apply for the International Cultural Service Program (ICSP). Selected ICSP students receive a tuition-waiver scholarship ranging from $7,500 – $27,000. ICSP students agree to complete 80 hours per year of cultural service as required by the program. Cultural service can include speaking or giving demonstrations to schools or community groups about the heritage and culture of your country or participating in international events on campus.
Eligibility-
- Applicants must be admissible or fully admitted to the University of Oregon. New students must apply for admission to the UO for 2013-14 by the given deadline.
- Applicants cannot be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or eligible to receive U.S. federal financial assistance.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet the minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA requirement.
Please be sure applicant have all attachments and answers ready before filling the form including-
- Presentation materials The selection committee is very interested in the types of presentations applicant are able to make. Describe topics applicants are prepared to address as they represent their country and cultural background. Include a list of the materials they need to illustrate their talk (ie. slides, photographs, instruments, national dress, artifacts, etc.).
- Two-page personal biography The biography should be in the form of an essay and not a listing of facts. It should include information concerning your background, future goals, education, influential experiences and special interests.
- Two recommendation forms. Applicants are responsible for making sure that their recommendations are submitted in English on or before deadline. Please be sure that applicant’s recommender uses the same name that is on their ICSP application. Recommendation letters submitted to the office of Admissions can NOT be used for their ICSP Application.
