The Annex A of the application form for UNFPII Small Grants Programme comprises of the Background, Rationale, Objectives, Strategy, Results & Sustainability, Partnerships, Monitoring and Evaluation and Detailed Budget Proposal. We will go through these sections one by one.
In the Background Information, main details about the project and the organization are requested. The Project Title can give a lot of meaning to your project.
Some general tips for writing a project title are:
- It should be short and clear
- It should be descriptive i.e. provide a meaning to what you intend to do
- It should be remembered easily
- Avoid using acronyms within titles
- It should be related to the objectives of the project
“Setting up a Tribal Health Center” can be a vague title but “Improving Sustainable Health Services for Tribal Communities” can be an actionable title, leading to some outcome.
Some previously funded projects of UNFPII had the following titles such as:
- “Demystifying negative cultural practices to address HIV“
- Promotion of legal awareness of the indigenous people of…“
- “Increased access to education of girls“
The “Requested Amount to the Trust Fund” to be filled in US dollars only. Make sure you have your budget ready before putting in this information.
Other details under the “Background Information” are related to your organization such as the name of the NGO, bank information, contact, mission, expertise etc. Most of this information can be gathered from your organizational profile.
