In another Global Development Alliance partnership, USAID supported the alliance of the Republic of Djibouti and Family Health International (FHI) along with a private sector partner, DP World, which is the fourth largest global marine terminal operator.
DP World financed and managed the construction of a 126-meter “SafeTStop” facility that includes a clinic with private examination rooms, a recreational center and a training room equipped with internet access.
The contribution of USAID and FHI includes support towards staff and running the centers. USAID, FHI and the Government of Djibouti will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the centers and all parties would collaborate on needs assessment and programs to address health, safety and educational needs.
