Qualified and dedicated Vietnamese professionals are invited to apply for the 2012-2013 competition for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. Under this program, mid-career professionals from across various fields get to spend one-year at a leading US university pursuing a non-degree study combined with work experience besides participation in professional affiliations off-campus, field trips, special workshops and seminars in their field of study. This is a full scholarship program offered to promising mid-career professionals who have a proven track record of leadership, and a strong commitment to public service. Fellows are selected based on their potential for national leadership and commitment to public service in either the public or private sector.
Eligible Fields:
The 2012-2013 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is seeking qualified Vietnamese candidates in fields of Agricultural and Rural Development; Communications/Journalism; Substance Abuse Education, Treatment and Prevention; Economic development/Finance and Banking; Educational Administration, Planning and Policy; Higher Education Administration; HIV/AIDS Policy and Prevention; Human Resource Management; Law and Human Rights; Natural Resources Management/Environmental Policy/Climate Change; Public Health Policy and Management; Public Policy Analysis and Public Administration; Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (Teacher Training or Curriculum Development); Technology Policy and Management; Trafficking in Persons, Policy and Prevention; Urban and Regional Planning;
The applicants must be between the ages of 28 and 45 having completed a university degree besides having a minimum of five years of substantial professional experience prior to August 2012. Strong English skills are required with a minimum paper-based TOEFL score of 525 or iBT TOEFL score of 71 for the selection in Vietnam. An Institutional TOEFL test will be organized for eligible candidates.
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program includes grant provisions:
international travel; tuition and university fees; accident/health insurance; monthly maintenance allowance; and funds for books and professional activities.
The Humphrey Program does not provide financial support for accompanying family members or dependents.
