The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is currently seeking proposals from forest and farm producers organizations in Viet NamForest and Farm Facility (FFF) along with the Forestry Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to support sustainable livelihoods from forests and farms and to Enhance Sustainable Forest and Farm Producer Organizations in Viet Nam.
The purpose of the grants is to enhance the sustainable production of forests and farms by supporting communities to get organized into producer organizations. The grants can be used to start up a new producer organization or strengthen an existing group to improve its business or organizational capacity.
Each grant is up to USD 10,000 with the duration of 6 to 12 months. The project must ensure the participation of Women, Youth indigenous people and/or other disadvantaged groups.
Key Areas covered under Grant
- Develop and/or strengthen farm forest producers groups in Yen Bai and Bac Kan Province, Vietnam.
- Market oriented business development of forest and farm products.
- Integrate sustainable forest and farm practices in production.
- Improve access to credit, market information, market linkages, business partnerships and raise awareness on legal conditions for products (through FLEGT, VPA, FSC, etc).
- Improve processing, handling services, value addition and product marketing.
- Promote synergy between FFPOs and stakeholders for policy advocacy and Sustainable.
- Promote synergy between FFPOs and stakeholders for policy advocacy and sustainable management of natural resources.
Eligibility Criteria
- The grantee must be located in Yen Binh or Tran Yen district, Yen Bai Province or Ba Be District, Bac Kan Province in Vietnam.
- The Grantee must be a Local non-profit-making organization working directly with producers.
- The grantee must be an existing, or wishing to start up a new, producer organization, focusing on forests or combinations of forest and farm related activities.
- The Grantee can be from any one of the organization- Indigenous peoples and tree grower and agro-forestry associations, forest owners’ associations, producer cooperatives, and their umbrella groups and federations.
- Organization should be registered and must have a bank account registered in the name of the organization. Conditional acceptance may be offered to organizations who have competitive concept note but have not yet registered.
- The Grantee must have the ability to demonstrate how the proposed activity meets the objectives of FFF.

- Short-listed Applicants will be invited to attend training on proposal writing skills to develop and submit a full proposal.
