U.S. Embassy in Vietnam is accepting applications from Vietnamese undergraduate students for Fullbright Program 2015/16 to study Master’s level in a University in the United States. The main purpose of the fullbright program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and people of other countries. It aims to provide educational exchange experiences to a maximum number of individuals not previously afforded such an opportunity.
The Fulbright Grant is a full-scholarship that covers tuition and fees, monthly stipend, round-trip airfare to the U.S. and health insurance for the full length of the master’s study program, and are renewable on an annual basis. Student’s academic performance plays a vital role in renewal of the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant must be a Vietnamese citizen (no dual citizenship) with at least one undergraduate degree.
- Applicant must have at least two years of work experience after graduation by the time of application.
- Applicant must have a valid minimum TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5.
- Candidates who already received one Fulbright Student Program grant and who are currently living or studying in the United States or those who have earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a U.S. college or university within the last 3 years are not eligible to apply for the Vietnamese Student fullbright program.
- Local employees of the U.S. missions in Vietnam who work for the U.S. Department of State and their immediate dependents are ineligible for grants during the period of their employment and for one year following the termination of employment.
The application form must be accompanied with two essays (study objectives and personal statement), 3 letters of recommendation, Transcripts and diplomas, TOEFL iBT and/or IELTS score reports, and Curriculum vitae.
