The UN Women was established by the United Nations General Assembly in July 2010 to serve as an entity for women empowerment and to speed up the progress in promoting gender equality. The agency works for the women rights across the world and also providing a powerful platform to women and girls to raise their voice at the global, regional and local levels. UN Women helps United Nations to strengthen its ability to provide timely support to Member States to advance gender equality.
UN Women Vietnam is seeking proposals from candidates to provide support and strengthen capacity of Ho Chi Minh Youth Union (HCYU) in Da Nang. The general objective of the assignment is to work with the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union in Da Nang to support and strengthen their capacity in working with boys and men in the prevention of violence against women.
Specific Tasks
– Working closely with the international consultant (hired by Partner for Prevention (P4P) to refine and adapt:
-> TOT training plan and content on working with young people, especially men and boys in gender equality and prevention of violence against women to YU facilitators.
-> Guideline for facilitation of youth clubs in Da Nang.
-> M&E tools for Youth clubs in Da Nang.
– In cooperation with P4P and UN Women devise and conduct TOT for selected Youth Union members/teachers at 5 high schools in Da Nang.
– Implement the Monitoring and Evaluation tools developed by the P4P consultants, analysing the collected information and writing M&E report.
Who can apply?
Proposal can be submitted by an organization or jointly by two or more organizations of any of the following categories.
– Non-governmental organizations
– Community-based organizations
The applying organization must be legally registered in Vietnam.
Selection Criteria
Proposal will be selected on the basis of technical (80%) and financial (20%) assessments. The technical assessment will review the following:
– Extent to which the proposal fulfills the requirements of the Call for Proposals (5%)
– Soundness experiences conducting TOT on the prevention of violence against women, on the involvement of men and boys in the prevention of violence and in producing training materials in this field. (20%)
– Soundness of strategy, proposed activities and expected results against the problem analysis (20%)
– Extensive experience liaisoning and working with Government officials specifically in the area of “the involvement of men and boys in gender equality.”(10%)
– Realistic work plan to complete the activities (10%)
– Applicants’ institutional capacity and relevant experience (15%)
