The World of Children Award (WAC) program is calling for nominations of the award which offers cash grants of up to US $50,000 in areas of health, humanities and youth. The aim is to recognize and elevate those selfless individuals who have made a difference in the lives of children across the globe, regardless of political, religious or geographical boundaries. The WAC honors these heroes and leaders, and grants them funds to support the proven, high-impact programs they have created for children, and ensures that more children’s lives will be touched, improved and changed forever. In their fifteen-year history, the WAC has identified and vetted the world’s most promising heroes for improving children’s lives and has been called the Nobel Prize for child advocacy.
You will need to register and create your account at this link before your application, and it is good to set it up earlier to be familiar with the submission procedures. The WAC highly suggests that you preview the sample nomination form (available at this link) and prepare your answers before you begin filling out the official online form, to be fully prepared and to reduce time and trouble. After you log in, you may fill up the nomination form, but only click the “Save” button to allow yourself to go back multiple times for modifications. You should not click the “Submit” button until you are finally ready to submit your nomination, because once you click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form, you will not be able to go back and edit it again. Your nomination submission deadline is before April 1, 2013, 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time.
In addition, you should read the Eligibility and Selection Criteria which will be explained in later sections, to decide which award category best suits the work your candidate is doing; and read the Frequently Asked Questions document before you start. You will be asked to tell a compelling story about why your candidate deserves to win over all of the others nominated. In case you need more ideas about how to recognize a candidate and what will be the requirements for the nominee, you may refer to those previous winners’ webpage to learn the winners’ stories and their contributions.
