The Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) is inviting youths for “Young Mediterranean Voices, Youth Debate Clubs” that aims to promote a culture of debate and participation among youth, and increase their skills for public debate by providing platforms for youth from diverse backgrounds to meet and exchange views.
The Youth Mediterranean Voices Debate Clubs will have the task, through the implementation of their activities and methodology they propose, to prepare and train young people to debate in public. The best performers will be invited to participate to a public ‘debate tournament/competition’ .
Eligible Countries: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan
Objectives
- Promoting intercultural dialogue through structured and sustainable debates in the targeted countries .
- Providing young people open spaces for debate and stimulate exchange of views on issues of common concern with the local community;
- Enhancing young people skills for advocacy and to actively participate to social dialogue within their societies
Grants Information
- The minimum size of the awarded grants will be 5.000 Euro
- The maximum size will be 14,000 Euro depending and in line with the proposed action plan and budget.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible applicants must fulfil all of the following criteria:
- Be a legal person (not a physical person) such as non-governmental organisations, educational, cultural, academic or research institutions, media, foundations or local authorities, private entities;
- Being an organisation having sufficient management and financial capacity2 ; AND
- Being an organisation promoting youth empowerment and participation
- Being a member of one of the 5 ALF National Networks in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia prior to the 20th of January 2015 is considered an asset.
- Anna Lindh Foundation’s Head of Network Institutions in the 5 target Countries may respond to this call.
