Graduate students from the worlds’ leading business schools and universities, here comes the G20 Global Business Challenge for you! The G20 Global Business Challenge (GBC) is a multidisciplinary business competition that addresses global challenge through designing sustainable solutions. The solutions will incorporate new technologies and innovative business & financial models.
The graduate students with capabilities on analyzing and supplying sustainable solutions the major global challenges are encouraged to collaborate with research and business communities and put forward the solutions. The major objectives of the competition are- to identify real potential implementable solutions to a global business challenge, and to provide a learning experience for the students that will encourage healthy competition, professionalism and interaction by the future business leaders, both amongst themselves and with the business community.
Themes
- Diversity– diversity in solution designs.
- Collaboration– collaboration between business schools, universities, the research community as well as industry – irrespective of their location.
These two themes help bring out the best possible solution.

- First Prize – US$100,000
- Second Prize – US$15,000

- Winning Solution and Technology presented to the global media attending the G20.
- Travel subsidy of US$10,000 to all the non-Australian finalist teams.
Competition Rounds
- First Round (Virtual Elimination Round)-All the teams of postgraduate students will pitch their ‘conceptual business solution’. For it, the teams should prepare 5 page Executive Summary and video presentation of their proposed solution.
- Second Round (Finals)- Six selected finalists teams come to an intensive 2-day lock-in phase. They will address a series of specific constraints reflecting real-world issues in order to make their solution a reality. They will present to a judging panel of global CEOs and financiers.

- July-August – Round 1 Judging
- August-October– Round 2 Preparation
- 3-6 November 2014– Finals
Eligibility Criteria
- Participating students within a team must be either currently enrolled, or have been enrolled as at November 2013.
- The eligible program of study is any business or technical discipline based postgraduate program of study.
- A team should be of at least 2 and at most 4 members. The participating students can be from multiple universities or graduate business schools, teams may have coach, one or more mentors, and technology solutions.
