As per the statistics of Africa, 76% of young people enroll in primary education, 40% enroll in secondary education and 7% enroll in tertiary education. The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is a 10-year initiative to educate 15,000 young people in Africa to lead change and make a positive social impact in their communities. The program is designed to meet the educational needs of Africa’s rapidly growing youth population.

Eligibility Criteria –
- Candidate must be young men or women from economically disadvantaged communities in Africa with promising academic talent.
- Candidates must demonstrate potential to lead and be committed to give back.
- Global network of education institutions and non-profit organizations implement the projects of the foundation targeting talented yet financially disadvantaged students who are committed to giving back.
- The scholars are prepared and empowered to lead, fueling economic growth and social transformation across Africa.
