The Nelson Mandela Foundation (NMF) in collaboration with The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, working on behalf of the German Government, seeks expressions of interest from experienced NGOs that are interested in and capable of implementing the community dialogues in all South African Provinces. These NGOs will be trained on the tried-and-tested Community Capacity Enhancement (CCE) methodology. The NGO’s in turn will receive funding directly from GIZ and will be expected to identify and train local and community based NGOs to implement the community dialogues at the district and community level. The selected NGO’s will also be expected to monitor and evaluate the impact of the community dialogues.

GIZ GmbH has provided support to the NMF community dialogues on HIV/AIDS programme using the CCE methodology developed by UNDP since 2008. After three successful years the NMF and GIZ are handing the programme over to non-governmental organisations (NGOs), Government and communities concerned.

The NOG’s must have the experience in:

– Experience with community conversations is of advantage;

– Knowledge of national and international best practices in HIV and AIDS is required;

Knowledge of the National Strategic Plan on HIV/AIDS is a prerequisite;

– Knowledge, expertise and experience in project management including budgeting, fund raising, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, training and facilitation is necessary and must be proven.

Community Dialogues Briefing Session:

The Nelson Mandela Foundation in collaboration with the Deutsche GIZ will host a briefing session at the Nelson Mandela Foundation for interested NGO’s. Participation at the briefing session is mandatory for selection.
