ISIS, Inc. invites interested individuals and authors to submit abstracts for presentation at Sex::Tech 2012 to be held in San Francisco, California on April 1-3, 2012. This two-day annual conference will bring health and technology professionals together with youth, parents and community leaders to advance the sexual health of youth in the U.S. and abroad.
Sex::Tech conference event showcases high-tech educational content (mobile, social media, Internet) developed by professionals, highlights national and local program successes, and puts youth leadership at the forefront. Sex::Tech 2012 is expected to have 600 national and international in-person attendees, and more than 2,000 viewers following the conference via live video stream.
Abstract Submission
The abstracts must be of 250 words or less describing how the authors have utilized new media and technology-based strategies to increase knowledge, awareness and enhance young people’s sexual health.
There are four tracks for abstract submission. Each abstract should be applicable to one of the Tracks listed below, and the work presented must incorporate the use of technology and new media.
Healthy Sexuality: Research, program, education or advocacy work that uses technology and new media to promote healthy sexuality among youth and young adults, demonstrating innovative ways to approach adolescent sexual health, and offering lessons learned, best practices and promising results. Abstracts are highly encouraged that feature programs or research pertaining to LGBTQ youth, young MSM, or youth of color (especially young men).
Field Insights that Advance Sexual Health: Research findings and successful programs that advance adolescent sexual health and provide data for evidence-based program design, lessons learned and/or best practices for application to other present and future work in the field. Abstracts are highly encouraged that have a focus on teen pregnancy reduction; HIV/STD prevention, care and treatment for young MSM; or intimate partner violence prevention.
Grassroots Advocacy: Sexual health and reproductive rights advocacy efforts leveraged through the use of technology and new media and generated at the community level.
I’m A…XYZ Professional: Submissions should describe your job or profession, and provide examples of how you interact with professionals in other fields, across disciplines, and with youth.
