The UNESCO Office in Moscow is seeking proposals from eligible organizations and institutions in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Moldova for a project aimed at promoting journalist professional standards in conformity with the International Principles of Professional Ethics in Journalism.
Project outline:
To foster media accountability, strengthen the capacities of media professionals and facilitate self- regulation measures balancing quality journalism in the cluster countries the UNESCO Moscow Office will support a project aimed at harmonization of the rules and standards of the National Codes of Journalist Ethics with the provisions of the International Principles of Professional Ethics in Journalism issued by Fourth Consultative Meeting of International and Regional Organizations of Journalists in Paris on 20 November 1983. The project should include the development of the relevant expertise and documents and bringing together journalists and journalism organizations to discuss the appropriate regulations and provide advocacy for the codes of ethics through the ways most adequate at the national and local level.
Proposal submitted to the UNESCO Moscow Office shall include:
Project proposal on the official letterhead signed by the head of the Organization;
Succinct letter describing organization’s capacities and contact information;
Budget estimate in USD reflecting detailed breakdown of costs. The budget estimate should not count VAT, as UNESCO is a VAT-exempt organization.
Should your project proposal be selected, you will be contacted by the UNESCO Moscow Office to further discuss the details, including funding and implementation strategies. Other supporting documents may be required after the proposal has been selected
