Philips South African Innovation Fellows Competition 2015: Give Your Next Big Idea and Win R200,000

Philips is calling proposal for innovative ideas for products and services that will improve access to primary healthcare for better life. Innovative ideas must be submitted by South African Citizens or permanent residents individuals, small teams and start ups above 18 year that can help to change the world.

Prize and Benefits

The winner of the competition will receive R200,000 as a fellowship grant.
In addition, the winner will get mentored by The Innovation Hub in Pretoria and will be coached in the startup phase of his/her idea.
Training will be provided for the top-5 shortlisted entries to develop their ideas, business plan and presentations.

Eligibility Criteria

The Philips South African Innovation Fellows Competition is open to all south African Citizens or permanent residents individuals, small teams and start-ups above 18 year.
Innovative ideas will help to improve primary healthcare access for fellow Africans.
The next big idea for meaningful innovation addressing one of the following themes?
- ICT solutions to improve access to healthcare
- Solutions to improve care delivery
- Healthcare imaging for low resource settings utilizing smartphones
- Diagnostic tools for low resource settings
- Innovations for healthy living for mother and child.

Application Process

Application process is in 3 Phase
- Phase 1- Submit an idea-
  - Participants can register themselves at the website and should submit their nextbigideas is world or Pdf file on the following topic
    - The challenge being addressed
    - The technology solution proposed
    - The social impact expected
  - Application can also be sent via email.
  - Only selected ideas, will receive an e-mail confirmation about how to move onto Phase 2 of the competition.

Phase 2- Finalists selected and notified
Phase 3- Winner selected.
