You can be any age, from anywhere in the world; if you have a camera and any creative, funny or serious, inspirational story about the environment, you can participate in the tvebiomovies 2014! This is a US$4,500 one-minute film competition in three different categories.
The tve, inspiring change for 28 years now, is a UK registered charity founded by Central TV, the UN Environment Program and WWF in 1984. tve covers the most important stories on the planet: from climate change to gender equality, from conflict to culture, health to human rights.
Categories
- The INBAR Prize for Bamboo and Rattan
- The European Bank for reconstruction and Development Renewable Energy Prize
- The WWF-UK Prize for a World with a Future
Interested individuals or groups around the world are invited to submit a proposal about the film they would like to make using the online form. The pitches can be sent on English, French, Russian or Spanish languages. Selected best nine proposals will be invited to submit the final film by 14 October 2014. These nine film makers will be provided US$300 each on successful delivery of the films.
Prizes
- US$1500 – to Winners of Each Categories – total 3
- The nine finalist films will be shown at the CBD COP 12 Conference on Biodiversity in the Republic of Korea in October 2014; they may be screened on TV, used for publicity purposes or shown at other events.
Eligibility Criteria
- Entrant can be any person, any age, from any country.
- The proposals and final film must address the issues outlined in one of the above mentioned three categories.
- Entries can be submitted in English, French, Russian or Spanish.
- Entrants can be individuals or groups. Group entries must have a named group leader, whose details should be submitted on the entry form.
- Films can be maximum one minute in duration including credits and titles. Any film that exceeds 70 seconds in duration will be disqualified.
