The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Health and Nutrition Specialist based in Myitkyina, Myanmar.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Health and Nutrition Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Provide timely sectoral analysis, input and support to the Situation Analysis and its periodic update for effective project planning, development and management.
- Support the development and implementation of Integrated Health and Nutrition strategies and approaches through participation and collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Develop strategic work plan and objectives and provide effective implementation support and delivery of planned results.
- Monitor and evaluate project implementation for adjustment, acceleration and improvement of program delivery and sustainability.
- Provide technical support to government, NGOs and other partners at various stages of project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, including capacity building of government personnel and beneficiaries.
- Strengthen the capacities of Country Office staff through effective capacity building in the development, implementation and management of the Health and Nutrition programme.
- Ensure the accountability of UNICEF, Government and implementing partners in supply and non-supply assistance and disbursement of programme funds.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external counterparts for advocacy, technical coordination, information sharing and knowledge networking.
- Maintain and share strategic information with relevant stakeholders as required to support the Health & Nutrition Programme through effective implementation of an integrated monitoring system.
- Prepare programme/project reports and share with relevant stakeholders as required in compliance with the established guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain Emergency Preparedness, and in emergencies, provide emergency responses with effective coordination and in line with the Core Commitments for Children (CCCs) in Humanitarian Action, partnerships with the Health and Nutrition humanitarian actors strengthened within the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Advanced University degree in Public Health and Nutrition, Child Development, Water Sanitation, Public Administration, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.
- A first level University degree with relevant years of working experience may be exceptionally accepted.
- Five years of professional work experience at national and international levels in planning, programming, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of technical cooperation programmes related to Health and Nutrition.
- Professional work experience in a managerial position, or a technical expert position in child survival and development, health and nutrition care.
- Field work experience.
- Background/familiarity with Emergency.
- Fluency in English and Myanmar is required. Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
