The United Nations Children Fund is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Emergencies Manager based in London, UK.
The Emergencies Manager will support the ongoing development of the Unicef UK emergency strategy and collaborate with teams to embed emergency targets, budgets and activity into budgeting and planning processes.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Emergencies Manager will perform the following functions-
- Lead the Emergency Delivery Group, which is made up of representatives of each team and is one of the main coordination Support and strengthen team emergency activities and make strategic recommendations on issues, priorities and budget to the Emergency Strategic Group.
- Assist the Head of Emergencies in coordination during live emergency response, liaising with teams to ensure positive outcomes, and continually driving performance to achieve the best results.
- Ensure that the Emergencies Governance Structure, a two-tier system composed of the decision making body and the operation team, has clear management processes in place.
- Plan and coordinate organisation-wide meetings in order to shape our emergency priorities and action, as well as review our performance and future goals.
- Support the ongoing development of the Unicef UK emergency strategy and plan that supports and aligns with the Advocacy, Fundraising and Campaign strategies and wider UNICEF UK strategic plans.
- Collaborate with Team Heads to embed emergency targets, budgets and activity into budgeting and planning processes.
- Actively participate in the development of a cross organisational preparedness plan to enable our appeal launches to be first to market in a high profile sudden emergency.
- Regularly monitor activity and results across all emergencies. This will entail the active participation in the development and implementation of standardised reporting mechanisms.
- Innovate in regards to systems and processes that best support emergency fundraising and communication activities, working closely with the team heads across the organisation.
- Keep abreast of key fundraising trends and issues and the regulatory environment, ensuring that standards are set, procedures followed and issues acted upon or communicated as appropriate. Analyse information and data to identify key patterns/trends/behaviours relating to supporters and work with relevant teams to tailor products and communications.
- Build and develop networks across the sector with organisations and partner agencies to grow knowledge of trends to examine competitors. Recommend KPI scorecard, array analysis and key success indicators to benchmark UNICEF amongst top emergency competitors.
- In working closely with Fundraising Strategy & Knowledge and Brand teams, ensure there is an understanding and prioritisation of new emergency audiences by examining existing and new analyses and creating strategies to target these groups.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Experience within charities in a variety of fundraising streams and ability to understand trends in this sector.
- Experience of working in an integrated way with communications across departments and divisions with different understandings and priorities.
- Experience of implementing and monitoring long-term strategic plans with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to successfully manage a series of ongoing activities in a high pressured environment, anticipating issues and finding solutions to problems.
- Understanding and knowledge of current emergencies and global trends.
- Well-developed numerical skills.
