Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Human Resources Project Manager in Switzerland.
The HR Project Manager will provide analytical, design and project assistance to the Head of HR in support of the agency’s field entities.
The mission of AKDN is to work to improve the welfare and prospects of people in the developing world, particularly in Asia and Africa, without regard to faith, origin or gender.
Key Jobs Responsibility
The Human Resources Project Manager will perform the following functions-
- Support and implement communication tools regarding key HR processes to help build capacity and competence in the field and to support the growth of the agency.
- To compile HR information sent in from the field & prepares quarterly & annual reports analyzing information at country and global levels to identify trends and areas needing support.
- To research best practices of key HR processes, develop and suggest design modifications working closely with the field entities to support building capability within the managerial cadre of employees as well as HR.
- Coordinate the campaigns of recruitment including volunteers, internships in the field as well as the volunteer program.
- Support and coordinate the recruitment of senior level staff in field entities when required. Work with the AKDN Career Centre website and local HR to ensure posting of all key positions for the key population. Handle follow up and updates on status of recruitment through AKDN Career Centre.
- Conduct reference checks when required.
- Assist the Head of HR to coordinate the performance management process for the key population.
- In liaison with the Head of HR and the field entities, monitor the organization of succession planning, talent management and the rotation of high performance staff.
- Support the development and implementation of a compensation review to ensure that the institution is able to attract, retain and motivate staff of high quality, whilst maintaining internal equity.
- Assist in the development of HR policies that support the growth of AKHS/AKPBS.
- Assist with workforce restructuring exercises if needed.
- Ensure consistent communication and coordination with the field entities on key projects.
- Ensure data requests are completed by the field entities in an accurate and timely fashion and identify shared opportunities for capacity building.
- Ensure that best practices and HR policies are disseminated and implemented in the country; and are compliant with local labour laws.
- Ensure that field entities are able to conduct training and have proper and accurate training plans to build capacity in required skill areas to meet the needs of the future.
- Responsible to have accurate and updated data and HR analysis for recruitment activities, performance management, talent management, compensation and training.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Preferably Masters Degree in Human Resources, MBA or related field.
- Experience in the private and ideally not for profit sector or experience as a consultant.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in human resources, in an international environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent problem solver and ability to develop innovative solutions.
- Significant practical experience of managing core HR processes in particular compensation, talent management and recruitment.
- Very strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- High integrity and ability to balance competing demands.
- Strong analytical ability, an eye for detail and excellent organization skills.
- Ability to take initiative and to be pro-active.
- Customer orientation with a strong service orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ideally French. Another central Asian or East African language skills.
- Willingness to travel if required to Central Asia /Africa.
