The African Union (AU) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Webmaster based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The main responsibility of the Webmaster (Digital Marketing Manager) will be the development, installation, maintenance, and operation of the organization’s internet and intranet websites and various other applications that can be operated in any environment including iOS and Android.
The African Union, established as a unique Pan African continental body, is charged with spearheading Africa’s rapid integration and sustainable development by promoting unity, solidarity, cohesion and cooperation among the peoples of Africa and African States as well as developing a new partnership worldwide.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Webmaster will perform the following functions-
- Design, develop, and maintain an innovative, engaging, and informative website for a worldwide audience.
- Fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Develop tools and procedures that enhance website visibility, quality, and speed.
- Ensure application infrastructure availability to meet SLAs for the respective instances.
- Interface with internal users to develop effective web-based solutions to meet and/or exceed user requirements. Implementing change management controls.
- Collaborate with MIS team, and other departments to solve common problems and to create landing pages and optimize user experience for the internal website and AU recruitment Website.
- Technical lead and primary contact for all web-based projects pertaining to the intranet of the AUC.
- Gather requirements, design, code and test independently.
- Educate internal stakeholders about Intranet best practices and internal intranet processes.
- Plan and execute all web, SEO/SEM, Knowledge management database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns for the recruitment website and intranet
- Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
- Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
- Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
- Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
- Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
- Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners
- Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Masters Degree in Marketing, webdesign, Information systems or related field.
- 7 years of working experience in digital marketing, designing, developing, leading and managing content management systems, Knowlegde management databases, social media and/or display advertising campaigns skills.
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, webdesign, Information systems or related fields can be considered provided that they have 10 years of working experience in digital marketing, designing, developing, leading and managing content management and knowledge management systems with SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns skills.
- Strong analytical skills to make qualified recommendations on continuous improvement to web strategy.
- Must have excellent sense of graphic design.
- Must have an excellent writing and content design skills.
- High sense of integrity, trust and confidence.
- Demonstrated sense of impartiality and objectivity.
- Excellent analytical, advocacy, written and oral communication and diplomatic skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact at high level.
- Ability to work in a complex institutional environment.
- Proficiency in one of the AU working languages (English, French, Arabic and Portuguese) is a must.
- Knowledge of second or all of the other working languages would be an added advantage.
