The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Logistics Learning Program Manager. The position will be based in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Logistics Learning Program Manager will coordinate the update of the contents and the creation of a new training delivery model for the Logistics division, using the Regional Logistics Centers (RLC) resources.
The ICRC responds quickly and efficiently to help people affected by armed conflict.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Logistics Learning Program Manager will perform the following functions-
- Contribute to the definition of an ICRC Logistics training strategy (primarily for the field) in accordance with the Training Plans established for each of the Logistics professions.
- Design and/or update Learning tools and delivery modes for the Log Division, in coordination with HR LnD, based on a decentralized delivery from RLCs.
- Update Learning contents for the Logistics Division.
- Plan and launch the implementation of the strategy.
- Drive the planning and delivery of Log learning interventions across all regions.
- Contribute to the implementation and development of a training structure in the RLC’s.
- Provide support to the Regional Log units regarding actual learning development opportunities.
- Ensure that new Learning products and services developed by the HQ are translated into concrete Learning interventions in the field.
- Control the quality of the learning programs, their updates and the deployment of related tools (KPIs).
- Ensure training delivery is done at a quality level and according to time and budget frame conditions – pro-active steering in case of deviations and restrictions in coordination with Logistics Supply Chain Systems and Projects Unit.
- Contribute to the integration in the Learning contents of the trainings related to new tools, concepts and procedures, notably linked to the ongoing implementation of an ERP (JD Edwards) in the Logistics Division.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Understanding of LnD within an humanitarian organization as potential to grow organizational capabilities and finally the service level and professionalism delivered to our “clients”
- Understanding of the differences between on-boarding training, training for changes (e.g. new tools), remedial training, and training for promotion, and be able to develop in each case the most appropriate tools according to priorities set by the Management
- Understanding of “LnD as an opportunity for professional growth” i.e., delivery Learning solutions according to field service needs in a timely and efficient manner
- Knowledge of field service needs and how these (should) “feed” the current and future Log Learning approaches Portfolio
- Understanding of the different complementary educational methodologies and learning principles as well as all learning delivery channels to find optimal cost/efficiency mix for appropriate field service area
- Management of a multicultural, virtual team including individual and team development, strategic and tactical supervision, best practice sharing and open feedback and performance culture
- Maintain close relationship and management of global LnD delivery partners; monitor performance and quality and drive corrective actions when necessary
- Capacity to translate the local/cultural flavored needs in the field services organizations into meaningful and affordable LnD opportunities and solutions
- Good knowledge of and solid understanding of LnD modalities (esp. the use of new technologies / e-learning), business case development, project management and change management
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English and French required, Spanish and Arabic an advantage)
- University background; formal education in LnD area an advantage
- Supply Chain Management/Logistics experience a real asset
