Applications are invited for the Open Society Human Rights Internship under The Human Rights and Governance Grants Program and Scholarship Programs.
The internship is mainly designed for recent graduates of master’s and LLM programs in the social sciences, law, and humanities to enhance their skills in the human rights sector. This program will give the interns an opportunity to gain first-hand research experience in the field of human rights, government accountability, or penal reform.
Successful candidates receive a locally determined stipend and the opportunity to work in one of the leading human rights and accountability advocacy organizations in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The program is designed to benefit both the intern and the host organization.
Internships last from 6 to 12 months, depending on the research topic and scope. For the upcoming year, the Open Society Institute will support up to 10 internships.

About The Human Rights and Governance Grants Program
The Human Rights and Governance Grants Program (HRGGP) is the principal grantmaking body of the Open Society Institute focusing on human rights, accountability, and rule of law promotion in Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, and Mongolia. Recognizing the crucial role civil society can play in providing a check on government abuse, the program strives to ensure a vibrant and dynamic NGO community in the region that is able to serve that function. Overseen by the OSI Sub-board for Law and Human Rights, the program supports national and international advocacy organizations at the local, national and regional level.
