Surdna Foundation
The Surdna Foundation makes grants to NGOs around the world in areas of environment, community revitalization, effective citizenry, the arts and the nonprofit sector. NGOs can specifically seek funding from this Foundation under its Nonprofit Sector Support Program and Organizational Capacity-building Grant. The latter grant program offers grants up to US $ 15,000 to each organization “to address important management and governance issues which can be handled with a small amount of money in a short period of time. Projects may address issues including (but not limited to): board/staff development, marketing, strategic planning, strategic restructuring and communication.” Proposals/letters of enquiry are accepted round the year and applications can be submitted online too. Funds for Building the Organization
The WINGS Global Fund for Community Foundation provides funds to philanthropy-based community foundations and NGOs for institutional growth and organizational development that can lead to sustainability of their interventions. Preliminary letters of inquiry, containing a 3-page concept note, is to be submitted before submitting the actual proposal. The specific reasons for seeking funding from the Foundation could be for obtaining external assistance from national, international or regional consultants, capacity building in governance, fundraising, grantmaking, strategic planning etc, exchanges and study visits and sharing of information and learnings. Rockefeller Foundation
