The Generation Waking Up (GenUp) invites nominations of young leaders in between 16 to 29 years of age to become Thrive Fellows 2014. This is a year-long leadership program in Social Innovation that includes personal development, team building, community engagement, collective learning, and collaborative action. In the course, the fellow will apply the most promising tools and capacities of current time to generate creative solutions to complex challenges.
The GenUp is a global campaign to ignite a generation of young people to bring forth a thriving, just, sustainable world.
From 10-17 August 2014, The Thrive Academy intensive leadership training will be held at The Whidbey Institute. This is the launch of Thrive Fellowship Program and creates a Thrive Action Plan for the journey ahead.
Thrive fellows will be supported by full time staff to assist with project implementation and individual coach to support with challenges. They will be part of peer support group to keep connected and receive ongoing support from other fellows. They will get opportunity to participate in webinars to deepen their knowledge and skills. The fellows will have access to a network of experts in diverse social fields. They will be sharing thier stories, questions, challenges and resources in the online learning community.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidate/Applicant must be a young person 16-29 years of age.
- Candidate/Applicant must be from North America (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States).
- Candidate/Applicant must demonstrate commitment to grow as leader and bring social innovation to her/his campus and/or community.
- Candidate/Applicant must have the passion to grow personally and create social change.
- Candidate/Applicant must represent a campus, community, or place-based context for implementing an ongoing social innovation project.
- Candidate/Applicant must have demonstrated leadership skills and potential, ideally with a track record in community service, social activism, or social entrepreneurship.
