Robert Bosch Stiftung in cooperation with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) is seeking applications from young executives for the Carl Friedrich Goerdeler Kolleg for Good Governance 2016–2017 program to provide professional training in the field of good governance to a new generation of executives

Focus Areas

  • Acting Responsibly: Participants will receive additional training and certification in the areas of administration modernization and good governance.
  • Gaining insight behind the scenes: Participants will learn how good governance is practiced in administration, business, and civil society by means of practical examples in Germany and the EU.
  • Shaping Sustainable Plans: Participants develop their own plans for a project relating to conditions in their own countries, receive training as project managers, and initiate their projects in the course of their year at the Kolleg.

Eligibility Criteria

  • UNICEF is looking to provide investment-style funding to early-stage tech startups. Only entities that fulfill these mandatory requirements will be eligible:
    • A private company/institution registered in a UNICEF programme country (mentioned above).
    • Working on open source technology solutions (or willing to be open source) under the following licenses:  Software: BSD, AGPL, LGPL and Content and designs: Creative Commons CC-BY-SA or CC-SA
  • Projects funded need to increase the ability of children to access information and to increase opportunity and choice. Specifically, projects should align with one of UNICEF Innovation’s three portfolio areas:

Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking applications from journalists from Southeast Europe to participate in the ‘Economic and Political Reporting from Southeast Europe’ programme, managed by experienced staff from Thomson Reuters Foundation and Robert Bosch Stiftung.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Thomson Reuters Foundation initiated the Program in 2007. The program is to foster quality analysis and reporting on economic issues, enhance coverage on topics that are central to the region’s economic and political development and encourage regional networking among journalists.

Benefits

  • The programme includes two 10-day training courses in London, UK (10-23 April) and in Berlin, Germany (11-24 September) and is run by skilled ex-Reuters journalists.
  • Participants will also travel to Brussels and Frankfurt to meet policy-makers and journalists covering European financial and political affairs.

Focus Areas

The course will cover the following broader topics:

  • Writing about emerging market economies
  • Markets reporting and covering companies
  • Practical exercises based on current European themes

Submissions

  • A short biography of now more than 200 words.
  • A story of the state of applicant’s national economy.
  • A statement of between 250 and 500 words describing any factors affecting applicants work as a journalist. Explain how applicant hopes to benefit from the course for which he/she are applying.
  • Two recent examples of applicants published work, preferably relevant to the course for which they are applying, with a brief summary in English (if necessary). TV/Radio journalists can send in their scripts and a brief summary.

An applicant must:

  • Be a citizen of eligible countries (mentioned above).
  • TaiwanICDF Scholarship, and satisfy any specific criteria established by his or her country and/or government of citizenship.
  • Neither be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student.
  • Satisfy the admission requirements of the partner university to which he or she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
  • Be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior, of the ROC (Taiwan) government (this means that the TaiwanICDF has the right to revoke a scholarship offered if an applicant cannot satisfy the visa requirements).
  • Upon accepting a TaiwanICDF scholarship, not hold any other ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship (such as the Taiwan Scholarship) in the same academic year in which the TaiwanICDF scholarship would be due to commence.
  • Not be applying for a further TaiwanICDF scholarship in unbroken succession — applicants who have already held a TaiwanICDF scholarship, MOFA’s Taiwan Scholarship or an MOE scholarship must have returned to their home country for more than one year before re-applying.

The Joint Urban Programming Initiative (JPI) Urban Europe invites proposals from the funding agencies for the ERA-NET Cofund Smart Urban Futures (ENSUF), supported by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme, aiming at creating attractive, sustainable and economically viable urban areas, in which European citizens, communities and their surrounding can thrive.

Romanian State to foreign citizens through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently inviting applications for the 85 scholarships program for under- and post-graduate studies in Romania.

Scholarship Covers

  • Free-of-charge tuition,
  • Free-of-charge accommodation

    • 65 EURO per month, for the under-graduate students.
    • 75 EURO per month, for post-graduate students (master degrees and specialization).
